This project drew from personal memory and Southern culture, specifically the Low Country Boil. It’s a meal consisting of seafood, corn, potatoes, and more that is stewed in one pot, then dumped on a large surface for immediate, and often messy, consumption. To me, and in these pieces, The Boil represents family tradition and the joy of connecting with others through cooking.
